Villarrica - assemble and create

The bikes made it to Asuncion, and then stayed in luggage storage at the airport until we took the bus to Villarrica on Thursday.

Trek on porch, mostly assembled!
We're opting to build our own camp stove out of beer cans and a penny. SO FUN. Still some kinks to work out but damn look at those jets. We are both real excited about this stove because it is lighter, smaller and more versatile than other camp stoves. Also, it's super easily replaceable. Lael and Nick, good friends and bike packers extraordinaire shared this idea with us after having used a penny stove to cook tens of thousands of miles worth of fuel | food. Here are the instructions for the penny stove we have tinkering with.

Jacque's introduced Kayla to some of her wonderful Paraguayan friends and together we've already met some real characters. Hector, our main man from el Viajero Hostel in Asuncion, gave us both an incredible welcome, and generously drove us to the bus station in his mom's minivan when we left for Villarrica. We got an extra fun hang sesh in a parking lot while we waited for a jump after the car battery died.

So far we've listened to "una vaina loca" multiple times a day, been out to karaoke twice, and fended off at least one belligerently drunk guy who wouldn't stop yelling about black friday. We plan to leave Villarrica on Thursday or Friday, when we will head south to Encarnacion and then over the border to Posadas, Argentina.
